Orchard meeting at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) Experimental Orchard in Wilanów (Poland) – 23 August 2026

 On 23 August 2026 at 11.00 am, a meeting focusing on current challenges in apple production will take place at the SGGW Experimental Orchard in Wilanów (Poland). Fruit growers, advisers and representatives of the fruit-growing sector are invited to attend.

This year’s season, marked by spring frosts and losses in the orchards, will serve as a starting point for a discussion on regulating tree growth under conditions of reduced yield. Participants will learn about the results of experiments carried out in the orchard and will see both two- and multi-conductor plantings systems.

The event programme also includes a 45-minute expert panel on:

• apple harvest forecasts in Poland, Europe and worldwide,
•  the weather impact on fruit quality,
•  apple storage options,
• reducing quality problems after harvest,
• the expected situation on the apple market.

A significant part of the meeting will consist of shows practical sessions held in the orchard, including an assessment of the effects of regulating tree growth following frosts and a presentation of two- and multi-conductor plantings systems.

The event will also provide an opportunity to talk to experts and representatives of companies in the sector, to exchange experiences and to learn about the solutions used in modern fruit growing.
