The Professor Pieniążek Competition at TSW 2027. Show how your solution makes a difference in horticulture
Faster harvesting, better-informed growing decisions and easier day-to-day management. Every effective horticultural solution delivers a tangible benefit for growers. These are the achievements worth entering in the 13th Professor Szczepan A. Pieniążek Competition. Entries are open until 18 December 2026, and the winners will be announced at TSW 2027 in Kielce, Poland.
When buying machinery, choosing technology or adopting a new service, growers want to know how it will perform on their own farms. Will it make a particular task easier? Help reduce losses? Allow them to plan staff and equipment use more effectively?
For a company that has developed such a solution, answering these questions is a good starting point for an entry in the Professor Szczepan A. Pieniążek Competition. It is an opportunity to present your product to experts and demonstrate its value to the people who make decisions about the development of their farms every day.
Which solutions should you enter?
The competition is open to exhibitors at the TSW Fruit and Vegetable Industry Fair. It covers products, machinery and services designed for fruit and vegetable production.
When preparing your entry, start with the problem your solution addresses. Perhaps a task previously required too many people. Perhaps growers lacked the information they needed to make a decision, or a tool to help organise their daily work.
This explanation communicates the value of a product much faster than a long list of specifications. Technical data becomes meaningful when readers understand what it means for the user.
What will the judging panel consider?
Entries will be assessed on innovation, the benefits of using the solution and its economic viability.
Your entry should therefore include a comparison: how a particular task was carried out before, and what changes when your product is used. If your company has research findings, measurements or examples of the solution in use, draw on them to explain the difference.
Rather than making a general claim about time savings, present a measured result and the conditions under which it was achieved. Instead of simply describing a device as easy to use, show it in action. This gives the judging panel evidence to assess the solution and understand its practical application.
The competition final at TSW 2027
The awards ceremony will take place on 14 January 2027 during the opening of the TSW Fruit and Vegetable Industry Fair. TSW 2027 will run for two days, 14–15 January, at ul. Zakładowa 1, Kielce, Poland.
It is an opportunity to draw the industry's attention to solutions that visitors can then discuss directly with exhibitors at their stands. Visitors can ask detailed questions, explore implementation requirements and find out whether a product meets the needs of their farms.
“We want to showcase solutions whose value growers can relate to their own farms: more efficient harvesting, better control over crop production or time savings. I encourage exhibitors to enter their products and show what they can help growers achieve. The competition final at TSW 2027 will be an opportunity to bring these achievements to the attention of the whole industry.”
Jacek Kłudka, Director of TSW and President of Oficyna Wydawnicza Oikos sp. z o.o.
How to enter the Professor Pieniążek Competition
The entry form and competition rules are available on the competition page. Submit your documentation to nagroda@tsw.plby 3:00 p.m. Polish time on 18 December 2026. An entry fee applies.
Allow enough time to prepare your supporting materials. A short video of a machine in action, a clear presentation of results or carefully selected photographs can help explain what a written description alone cannot convey.
Has your company developed a solution that makes work easier for fruit or vegetable growers? Enter it in the Professor Szczepan A. Pieniążek Competition and show why it deserves attention at TSW 2027.
