The latest technology impressed and attracted. TSW 2024 visited by thousands of gardeners
Oficyna Wydawnicza Oikos sp. z o.o. has been organizing the Fruit and Vegetable Industry Fair for 14 years. This year's edition has strengthened our position as a leader among organizers of events for the horticultural industry in the country. TSW has become a valued platform for knowledge exchange and dialogue for producers of innovative technological solutions, fruit and vegetable growers and industry experts. Innovative machines and equipment stunned. The demonstration plots were in demand. Numerous participants drew the latest specialist knowledge from 9 conferences.
424 exhibitors from 18 countries gathered at Targi Kielce on 17 and 18 January 2024. They presented machines for working in orchards and for growing vegetables. Refrigeration equipment, as well as for storing, sorting and packing fruit and vegetables. Plots with examples of nursery materials were besieged. A significant number of exhibitors presented fertilizers, plant protection products, including ecological ones. The fruit processing industry and fruit traders were also present.
- “We hosted over 100 exhibitors more than last year. 424 companies occupied six halls, one more than in 2023. The exhibition space has been increased by 20 percent. The Fair was visited by 13,832 visitors which is 1,000 more. The new location of the fair, which we chose two years ago, is the fruit and vegetable production centre. And Targi Kielce is very hospitable to us and we feel very comfortable here” - says Jacek Kłudka, TSW Director.
The majority of exhibitors have already declared their participation in the 15th edition of TSW, which is scheduled for January 22 and 23, 2025. Many emphasize that they are hoping for more display space.
-“The decision to move the fair to Kielce already serves the development of the event, which is clearly visible in the success of this year's edition. In 2025, we will have a seventh hall at our disposal, which I am convinced will also be filled in the following years," adds Jacek Kłudka.
- “If this is not enough, I would like to mention that we are on the verge of building another one", declares Andrzej Mochoń, PhD, the President of Targi Kielce.
The importance of the event was emphasized by Adam Nowak, the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. ”The TSW Fair is an excellent environment for discussion between producers, farmers and processors. They encourage farmers and fruit growers to improve their qualifications and skills," he said.
Impressive examples of mechanization, robotization and automation at TSW
The exhibitors' presentations are proof of impressive progress in the production of agricultural machinery. Mechanization, robotization and automation are becoming a reality, responding to the challenges of the industry, icluding the lack of labor and the Green Deal. Visitors could get acquainted with autonomous tractors for growing vegetables and fruit in orchards and AgXeed robots removing weeds with a laser. Traditional tractors surprised with new solutions. Visitors could see brands such as Case IH, New Holland, Landini, Iseki, Lovol, Massey Ferguson, John Deere, TYM, LS. The models, appreciated for the comfort and work safety in orchards, surprised with maximally glazed cabins. Innovative solutions for pruning branches were presented, incl. Grunner and PROCNC companies, and harvesters caring for the quality of fruit and vegetable harvest – by Jagoda and Weremczuk companies.
There were also modern sorting and packaging lines. At many stands, you could see how they work, e.g. Green Sort presented the latest packing table in this way.
A wide range of orchard sprayers were shown by Dominiak. Among tillage machines, the trend of mechanical weed removal stood out. Automatic cultivators and mowers were popular.
TSW 2024 showed that horticulture strives for innovation and sustainable solutions, contributing to efficient production and environmental protection.
Huge interest in the TSW Congress
Fruit growers want to develop and improve work on their farms. This was confirmed by the crowds taking part in the TSW Congress. As many as 9 conferences were organized, which provided growers with knowledge, about work modernization, as well as the possibility of reducing production costs. 80 experts shared their knowledge, incl. fertilization, new varieties, diseases and pests. The Orchard, Berry, Machinery, Vegetable, Strawberry, Nursery, Renewable Energy Sources and Industry Situation Conferences, as well as the Orchard Economic Forum allowed participants to gain specialized knowledge on crop management and trade.
Practical knowledge appreciated on TSW demonstration plots
During TSW 2024, it was possible not only to learn the theory of crop cultivation, but also to see how modern plantations are created in practice. For the first time, demonstration plots were arranged in the halls of Targi Kielce, which enjoyed great success. The first one – with apple, pear and cherry seedlings – presented the latest technologies of irrigation, moisture measurement and pest protection. The second one presented unusual forms of growing blueberries, raspberries and strawberries in tunnels.
"This type of space is the best way to present cultivation technology. In one place you can learn how to prepare the land for cultivation, which is an ideal source of knowledge for growers," said Przemysław Sarbinowski from iGrow, a company dealing with infrastructure preparation. "This is a pioneering project that has seen the light of day, and the thought that it will also be replicated in subsequent editions of this fair," he added.
The two-day event was appreciated by many visitors. As they emphasized, participation in TSW was an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge, establish industry contacts and learn about the latest technological achievements in the field of fruit and vegetable growing.
We invite you to the 15th Fruit and Vegetable Industry Fair, which will be held on 22-23 January 2025 at Targi Kielce, Poland!
