Tomasz Piasecki won the Fruit Grower of the Year 2025 Award, presented during the 16th Fruit and Vegetable Industry Fair. The jury recognised his modern, intensive, and sustainable dessert fruit growing, impressive production results and conscious, responsible farm management, which is a model for the young generation of fruit producers.

Two distinctions were also awarded in the Fruit Grower of the Year 2025 competition. The first went to Ewa and Mieczysław Chabowski for their multi-generational fruit-growing tradition, diversification of production and development of fruit processing. The second distinction was awarded by the jury to Arkadiusz Sołtysiak, whose farm is an example of modern, precision dessert fruit growing based on advanced technologies and high-quality fruit.

The Fruit Grower of the Year – industry competition as part of TSW

The Fruit Grower of the Year competition was organised as part of the Fruit and Vegetable Industry Fair (TSW) for the second time. Its aim is to recognise and present farms that successfully combine tradition with modernity, achieve high commercial quality fruit, implement innovative technologies, and operate in an environmentally and economically responsible manner. TSW, the largest industry event for the fruit and vegetable sector in Central and Eastern Europe, provides a platform for presenting market leaders and trends in modern fruit growing.

The results of the second edition were announced during the opening of an event organised by Oficyna Wydawnicza Oikos sp. z o.o. at Targi Kielce.

The Fruit Grower of the Year 2025 for Tomasz Piasecki

The title of Fruit Grower of the Year 2025 and the Golden Apple statuette were awarded by a jury of industry experts to Tomasz Piasecki from Palczew in the Grójec district of Mazovia Voivodeship. ‘I am extremely impressed. I would like to thank the jury for awarding me this title, and I am also grateful for the many prizes. This is a unique experience for me and my family. I did not expect so many congratulations and such significant interest from the media and the industry. We feel appreciated,’ admits Tomasz Piasecki. “The title of Fruit Grower of the Year is a sign that we are developing the farm in the right direction and motivation to introduce new solutions.”

The winner represents the young generation of fruit growers who have been involved in orchard work since childhood and today he makes key production, investment, and technological decisions with full awareness. The competition jury appreciated not only the remarkably high yields, but above all the consistent pursuit of producing the highest quality dessert fruit, meeting the requirements of the modern market.

Particularly noteworthy are the remarkably high yields of apples and pears, the implementation of modern frost and hail protection systems, and full control of irrigation across the entire crop area. The farm uses advanced precision horticulture solutions, including fertigation, meteorological stations, automated sorting systems, and modern storage facilities.

The jury also highly rated the implementation of integrated production principles, the reduction of chemical plant protection methods in favour of biological solutions, as well as care for the soil, biodiversity, and rational resource management. This is an example of a farm that successfully combines intensive production with environmental responsibility.

The Fruit Grower of the Year 2025 Award – Ewa and Mieczysław Chabowski

The first distinction in the competition went to the farm owned by Ewa and Mieczysław Chabowski, located in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The jury appreciated the consistent modernisation of the farm, crop diversification, and the development of fruit processing.

Attention was paid to creating unique fruit preserves, combining old recipes with proprietary technological solutions. Production without added sugar, shortening the supply chain and searching for new flavours that meet the expectations of modern consumers confirm that quality, authenticity, and passion remain the foundation of the competitiveness of Polish fruit growing.

The Fruit Grower of the Year 2025 Award – Arkadiusz Sołtysiak

The second distinction went to Arkadiusz Sołtysiak, whose ‘Sad na Złotej’ farm is a model example of modern dessert fruit growing. The jury appreciated the remarkably high quality of apples and pears produced for the dessert market, the consistent implementation of data-driven technologies, and the high standard of production and storage infrastructure.

Modern farm management, skilful combination of high yields with commercial fruit quality, and a responsible approach to the environment confirm our professionalism and long-term development strategy.
